Boek

Begin november verschijnt

DE AYTEMS VAN INSPIRATIE

At the beginning of November DE AYTEMS VAN INSPIRATIE will be released: a sensual book about head chef Ayt Erdogan from Utrecht (El Qatarijne, Mariaplaats).

His cuisine can be described as an exciting cross-over between East and West, where the Ottoman-Mesopotamian cuisine and a subtle use of oriental ingredients play a major role. Chef Erdogan knows his (French) classics, but deliberately chooses for a modern approach in which flavour receives its own dynamic. In this book, the chef talks openly about his sources of inspiration, the search for his culinary identity and his plans for the future. However, the focal point are his creations: with 40 impassioned dishes, Erdogan hands over his signature, hoping to continuously inspire his readers. Several influential people in the culinary world have cooperated with this book, such as Jan de Wit (Le Restaurant), Alain Caron (Café Caron), Noël Vanwittenbergh (Ciel Bleu) and Jerry Overeem (Bronckhorst). Furthermore, DE AYTEMS VAN INSPIRATIE contains touching family portraits, and a significant part is dedicated to Ayt Erdogans ‘hometown’ Utrecht, with beautiful impressions and tingling contributions about the food culture of the ‘Domstad’ – and parallel to that, the other important city in his life: Istanbul. A book about a chef from Utrecht is nothing less than unique, but it is about time the city embraces and exposes its culinary geniuses, so that a wider audience can get acquainted with this enthusiastic chef. Ayt Erdogan is ready: “The most beautiful encounters to me, are encounters that are daring in a culinary way”. DE AYTEMS VAN INSPIRATIE is a luxurious edition and is published by publisher Komma, who previously published PUURST by Jonnie Boer and Rijks, Masters of the Golden Age by Marcel Wanders. Vicky Keulen (PhotograVics) is responsible for the amazing pictures and texts are by Annelies Hess-Bosch.
